The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), in partnership with Powerstove Energy, has opened recruitment for skilled professionals to support the production of affordable and clean cooking stoves for households across Nigeria.
The recruitment follows the establishment of new stove assembly factories in different parts of the country. The initiative is part of a broader effort to expand local manufacturing capacity while promoting clean energy solutions that can meet the cooking and energy needs of millions of Nigerians.
Powerstove-NASENI is a stove manufacturing company focused on developing affordable, sustainable and renewable energy solutions for households and communities in developing countries. The company is currently one of the leading producers of cookstoves in Nigeria and remains the only indigenous producer of bio-pellets used as fuel for these stoves.
The cookstoves produced by Powerstove-NASENI are designed to be smart and smoke-free. They run on sustainable bio-pellets made from post-harvest crop residues and wood waste. In addition to providing a cleaner cooking option, the stoves are also able to generate electricity for users while in use.
By using waste materials to produce energy, the initiative contributes to the reduction of carbon emissions. It also supports the generation of verifiable carbon credits, which can help position Nigeria to benefit from global climate finance and strengthen green value chains within the country.
The recruitment drive is expected to support the setup and operation of new assembly factories in Lagos, Maiduguri, Kano, Enugu and Benue.
