June 16, 2025 – The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched the portal for the National Youth Conference 2025, widely known as the Youth Confab. Described as the largest youth-driven dialogue platform in the country, this conference brings together young voices from Nigeria’s 360 federal constituencies, six geopolitical zones, and the diaspora.

The initiative, convened by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to promote youth engagement in national decision-making. The President emphasized in a recent statement, “Youth will not be exploited to do the bidding of the government. Instead, our administration will work with and for the youth, providing them with a platform through which they may fulfil their greatest aspirations.”

The Youth Confab 2025 is not just another event—it is being called a national movement. It aims to empower young Nigerians to shape national policies, create innovative solutions, and drive progress in six major focus areas: Governance and Political Participation, Entrepreneurship and Job Creation, Climate Action and Energy Transition, Education and Seven-Star Skills, Technology and Digital Innovation, and Security and Social Cohesion.

Participation is open to individuals aged 18 to 35 years, with a limited 10% of delegates selected from those above 35. The organisers are also ensuring a 50:50 gender balance and strongly encourage the involvement of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), reinforcing the program’s commitment to inclusivity.

The conference will span four weeks and culminate in a national meeting where youth-driven recommendations will be submitted directly to the President. Through this platform, participants will have the opportunity to develop high-impact policy proposals, boost youth employment prospects, encourage digital innovation, and improve civic participation.

“Youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow, they are the changemakers of today,” said a spokesperson from the Ministry of Youth Development.
