The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) is preparing to reshape the global innovation landscape with the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2025. Scheduled for October 9, 2025, the event will gather 105 pioneering Nigerian innovators at the Hilton London Paddington for the Grand Finale, where they will showcase breakthrough solutions across multiple sectors.
According to Dr. Raji Kazeem Kolawole, Director General and CEO of NBTI, the platform will bring together international investors, policymakers, and development partners. He explained that the Grand Finale will include Innovation Pitches from 105 innovators presenting scalable and investable solutions.
Dr. Kolawole emphasized the outcomes expected from the event, which include the signing of MOUs for renewable energy and clean growth projects, direct networking opportunities between Nigerian innovators and global investors, and the launch of the NBTI Global App designed to connect Nigerian innovations with diaspora markets and international funding.
He highlighted several innovations set to take center stage at the challenge. These include HealthTech breakthroughs such as a smart wearable Bra-X for early breast cancer detection and a ventilator capable of supporting six patients simultaneously. AgriTech solutions like AI-controlled drones for precision farming and pest control will also be featured, alongside Clean Energy projects targeting affordable solutions for underserved communities. FinTech innovators will present next-generation applications designed for inclusive finance.
“This initiative is part of a national movement aimed at connecting grassroots ingenuity with global capital and catalyzing a new generation of entrepreneurial problem-solvers,” Dr. Kolawole stated. With inclusivity as a core principle, the challenge is open to innovators from all 774 local government areas in Nigeria, offering a platform for young talents to gain global exposure.
The event will also include an Awards and Recognition Ceremony to honor standout innovators and partners.
