The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) is taking major steps to transform Nigeria’s innovation space in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Under the leadership of Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, the agency is focusing on empowering grassroots inventors, boosting food security, and preparing Nigerian entrepreneurs for global competitiveness.

According to NBTI, its mission aligns with the President’s vision for economic growth and national greatness. The agency has over 58 technology incubation centres across the country and is working to ensure that no innovator or entrepreneur is left behind.

Dr. Raji noted that NBTI’s approach is about delivering measurable results, saying, “At NBTI, we don’t chase presentations; we build legacies with documented action plans. Government works with records. We work with results.”

In its drive to strengthen food security, NBTI recently hosted the End Hunger Initiative for Community Development, a group championing technology-driven solutions to hunger. Dr. Emeka Agwu, leader of the delegation, presented a vision for chemical-free, sustainable farming models supported by partnerships across Africa and Asia, including China.

The initiative covers organic farm-to-fork systems, processing hubs for cassava, cocoa, and rice, renewable energy integration, and youth exchange programmes.

Dr. Raji commended the initiative and reaffirmed NBTI’s readiness to support partners with clear goals and capacity to deliver. He stressed that collaboration must be structured and strategic to deliver real impact.

NBTI is also exploring collaboration with InvenTap by Salvy VentureCorp, led by Mr. Salvation Alibor. This programme focuses on turning “street inventions” into market-ready products through engineering training, mentorship, and investor showcases.

Dr. Raji said it complements NBTI’s NextGen Innovation Challenge, which has attracted over 3,000 innovators and is preparing top solutions for global investor showcases in London. “We are not just incubating ideas—we’re building industries, jobs, and global opportunities,” he stated.

In further efforts to support SMEs, Dr. Raji visited A&Shine Honey Limited in Kuje, Abuja, where he unveiled the upcoming NBTI Global App. The platform is designed to work like Amazon and Jumia, connecting Nigerian entrepreneurs to both local and international markets by solving logistics, payment, and compliance challenges.

“You don’t have to struggle abroad to succeed. There is life and opportunity here. Mr. President’s Nigeria First Policy ensures that what we produce is prioritised for Nigerians and positioned for global export,” Dr. Raji said.

Architect Peculiar Adeshina, MD of A&Shine Honey, expressed gratitude to NBTI for its support. “NBTI traced us, believed in us, and gave us the push we needed. Today, we are exporting honey and creating jobs. That opportunity changed our lives,” she said.
