NCC Seeks Stakeholder Input on Draft Guidelines for 6GHz Licence-Exempt Use

The Nigerian Communications Commission has announced the release of a Draft Regulatory Guidelines on the use of the lower part of the 6GHz (5925 – 6425) MHz band in Nigeria for licence-exempt applications. According to the Commission, the move is in line with its mandate under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003.

A statement from the Commission reads, “The draft Guidelines can be accessed via the following link: https://www.ncc.gov.ng/sites/default/files/2025-08/Draft-Regulatory-Guidelines-on-the-use-of-lower-6GHz.pdf.”

The Commission has invited all interested stakeholders to review the document and submit their feedback. “In accordance with Section 58 of the Act, the Commission invites interested stakeholders to review and make comments on the Draft Guidelines,” it stated.

The NCC has set Tuesday, September 3, 2025, as the deadline for receiving submissions. All submissions and inquiries are to be sent to ygibrahim@ncc.gov.ng, yabdulkadir@ncc.gov.ng, and copied to spad@ncc.gov.ng.

The notice, dated August 13, 2025, was signed by Nnenna Ukoha, Head of the Public Affairs Department, Nigerian Communications Commission.
