The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched the Training of Police Trainers on ICT, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Skills at the Metropolitan Hotels and Suites in Calabar, Cross River State. The program, facilitated by Dexterous Applied Training Institute, is designed to strengthen the capacity of police trainers with advanced ICT and AI knowledge needed for modern law enforcement.
Representing the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), the Board’s Supervisor, Government Relations, Mr. Teddy Bai, reaffirmed NCDMB’s commitment to promoting innovation and capacity development across sectors, including security. He stated that “In today’s digital age, ICT skills are essential for law enforcement agencies to effectively combat crime and maintain public safety.”
According to him, the training represents NCDMB’s belief that technology-driven capacity building is vital for national development and security. The initiative aligns with Nigeria’s growing focus on digital transformation and the adoption of artificial intelligence in governance and security operations.
The participating officers commended NCDMB and Dexterous Applied Training Institute for the opportunity, promising to use the knowledge gained to improve policing and contribute to public safety. Accompanying Mr. Bai at the event was Mr. Prince Foncha, Officer, Corporate Communications, NCDMB.
Together, they highlighted a vision for a secure, digitally skilled, and prosperous Nigeria.
