The Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), H.E. Silas Ali Agara, has hosted the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH team for a meeting aimed at advancing employment opportunities in Nigeria. The GIZ delegation was led by the Programme Component Manager, Employment and Promotion, Mrs. Svejetlana Djokic.
The meeting focused on setting up a job centre within the space provided by the NDE to strengthen job creation and skills development. According to Agara, “this partnership reflects our commitment to improving employment and empowering young people across Nigeria.”
Discussions highlighted collaboration between the NDE, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, and GIZ. The Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics of the NDE, Mr. Edmund Onwuliri, was also present and noted that his department will oversee the job centre.
Officials described the initiative as a “significant step toward tackling unemployment and enhancing workforce development.”
