The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has created new international job opportunities for Nigerian artisans through a collaboration with Enhanced Entrepreneurs Belarus Nig. Co. Ltd. (EBNC). The partnership, which began in 2019, has now opened employment placements for qualified Nigerian artisans in Belarus across various construction skills.
Speaking on the development, the Director-General of NDE, H.E. Silas Ali Agara, said the partnership with EBNC was established to provide skilled Nigerians with access to decent and sustainable work opportunities abroad. He explained that the initiative is part of the International Job Placement Programme launched by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, which focuses on creating safe, rewarding, and long-term jobs for Nigerian workers.
Agara emphasized that the programme also supports the transfer of modern skills and technology to Nigerian artisans, who will benefit from exposure to world-class construction standards and practices.
In a show of support, the Benue State Government approved the participation and sponsorship of 39 qualified artisans for the programme. This move highlights the state’s confidence in the initiative’s potential to reduce illegal migration and boost economic development.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Rt. Hon. (Barr) Nkeiruka Chidubem Onyejeocha, said the programme aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at ensuring that every Nigerian has access to decent employment opportunities.
The CEO of Enhanced Entrepreneurs Belarus Nig. Co. Ltd., Mr. Charles Adzo, expressed appreciation to the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hycinth Iormem Alia, and other partners for their collaboration. He also commended their shared vision for youth empowerment.
The Director-General of the Benue State Bureau of Entrepreneurship and Wealth Creation, Ms. Benita Shuluwa, encouraged the selected artisans to serve as good ambassadors of Nigeria during the pilot phase of the project, marking a major milestone in promoting employment and economic growth.
