A non-governmental organisation, New Dawn for Women and Community Intervention Initiative (NEWOMCII), has unveiled a nationwide plan to empower women and youths, targeting grassroots poverty and limited access to opportunities across Nigeria.

The group said the initiative is designed to close long-standing gaps in access to tools, funding, and support systems, particularly for underserved communities, while also complementing government efforts on inclusive development.

Speaking at a press conference, Founder and Chairman of NEWOMCII, Alhaji Bolaji Raji, said the programme was driven by the urgent need to expand opportunities at the grassroots.

“The birth of NEWOMCII was inspired by a simple but powerful reality: across our communities, especially at the grassroots, many women and young people possess immense potential,” he said.

He added that many still “lack access to the tools, opportunities, and support systems needed to succeed,” stressing that the initiative is positioned to directly address these challenges.
