The Nigerian Army has opened recruitment portal for the 91 Regular Recruits Intake for trades and non-tradesmen and women. The online registration will run from March 30 to May 17, 2026, and is open to qualified Nigerians who want to serve in the Army.
The recruitment process is free and competitive. Applicants are advised to apply early and follow all instructions carefully to avoid disqualification.
Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and must be single. They are required to have a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
Candidates must also be medically, physically and mentally fit according to Nigerian Army standards. Anyone with a criminal record is not eligible.
In terms of education, applicants must have at least four credits including English Language in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or GCE. Those applying as tradesmen or women must also present relevant trade certificates.
Age requirements vary. Non-trades applicants must be between 18 and 22 years, while trades applicants must not be more than 26 years by June 30, 2026.
All applications must be completed online through the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal.
Submit the application online and print out your Photo Card. You are also required to complete and print the Guarantor Form.
Applicants must ensure their application is submitted online before printing documents, as failure to do so will lead to disqualification.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for screening in their state of origin. The screening exercise is expected to take place between June 9 and June 23, 2026.
Candidates must come along with their Photo Card, Guarantor Form, declaration form, and other required documents. All credentials will be verified, and anyone found with fake documents will be handed over to the authorities.
Electronic devices are not allowed at the screening venue, and candidates with tattoos or body inscriptions may be disqualified.
Applicants are warned not to pay anyone for assistance during the recruitment process. The Nigerian Army has stated clearly that the recruitment is free.
