Nigerian Navy BTS Batch 38 recruitment to open in October

September 26, 2025 – The Nigerian Navy has announced plans for the recruitment exercise into the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School Batch 38, with applications set to open from 2 to 31 October 2025. According to the official notice, interested and qualified applicants are required to apply online free of charge through the portal at www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng.

The Navy emphasised that only a single valid application will be permitted, warning that multiple online submissions shall be disqualified. After completing the online process, applicants must print out essential documents, including the Acknowledgement Form, Parent or Guardian Consent Form, Local Government Attestation Form, and Guarantor’s Certification Form.

The eligibility criteria state that applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a National Identification Number. Male candidates must be at least 1.68m tall, while female applicants must measure not less than 1.65m. In addition, all candidates must be medically, psychologically, and physically fit, with no prior criminal convictions.

Applicants with O’Level or SSCE results must be between 18 and 22 years as at 31 December 2025 and must have at least five credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than two sittings. The certificates must not be older than 2019. For those with OND or NCE qualifications, the age range is between 18 and 26 years, while Chaplain or Imam Assistants and Drivers or Mechanics must be between 18 and 28 years. These applicants must also present results not older than 2015.

Tradesmen applying for fields such as tailoring, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, painting, and refrigeration and air conditioning technology are expected to hold Trade Test certificates in addition to other academic requirements. Applicants in professions allied to medicine must have an ND from recognised institutions and a valid practising licence, while sportsmen and women must present evidence of their achievements, such as certificates and medals.

“All applicants must be proficient in the use of English Language. Inability to communicate in basic English Language shall lead to disqualification at any stage of the recruitment process,” the notice added.

The recruitment examination has been scheduled for 29 November 2025 across designated centres nationwide. The Navy further stressed that “Nigerian Navy online registration and all other recruitment processes are free of charge and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the exercise.”

Successful applicants will undergo basic military training and, upon completion, will be enlisted into the service of the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
