The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in partnership with the Bauchi State Government through the Bureau for ICT and Digital Economy, has launched the state’s Digital Literacy and Skills Framework. The programme aims to align training initiatives with state priorities while taking advantage of NITDA’s national resources.
Speaking at the event, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, said digital literacy is now a fundamental right for all citizens. He described the initiative as a step toward preparing youth and civil servants to compete globally, create productive jobs, and tackle poverty through technology.
“This is part of our vision to ensure our people are not left behind in the global digital economy,” he said.
The Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, represented by Dr. Ayodeji Eniola, gave an overview of the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) programme. He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to achieving a 70 percent digital literacy rate by 2027 and 95 percent by 2030 across Nigeria.
The launch gathered key stakeholders from academia, the public sector, and the private sector, encouraging dialogue and partnerships to accelerate technology-driven development and enhance opportunities in the digital economy nationwide.
