NITDA launches workshop to empower spouses of Lawmakers with digital skills

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has launched a two-day Digital Literacy and Capacity Building workshop in collaboration with the House of Representatives Spouses Association (HORSA) to promote digital inclusion.

The workshop, themed “Empowering Women for Digital Future: Leadership, Wellbeing and Opportunity”, is designed to equip participants with essential digital skills needed to thrive in today’s digital economy. It also focuses on online safety, mental wellbeing and leadership empowerment, ensuring that women are prepared for opportunities in the evolving digital space.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, CCIE, highlighted the agency’s commitment to advancing digital literacy and transformation for a sustainable digital economy. He explained that building digital capacity remains central to national development efforts.

Inuwa stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda places digitalisation and innovation at the heart of economic diversification and inclusive growth.

According to him, the initiative will ensure that participants are not excluded from digital opportunities and systems due to skills gaps, as the agency continues to drive inclusive access to technology and digital knowledge across the country.
