August 26, 2025 – The National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries has released an official statement confirming that its meeting with the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) held yesterday (August 25, 2025) was highly successful.

Recall that the executives of NPower beneficiaries earlier announced the meeting with the NLC.

According to the statement, discussions centered on how the NLC, described as the foremost labour organization in Africa, could intensify pressure on the Federal Government to commence the immediate payment of all outstanding NPower stipends owed to beneficiaries.

The leadership of the NLC, during the meeting, pledged to immediately write to the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and the Honourable Minister of Finance, demanding that prompt payments begin without any further delay.

The Congress also resolved to give the Federal Government a specific timeline within which the payment must start.

It warned that if the government fails to act within the period, “appropriate actions will be taken.”

However, it is unclear what the executives refer to as ‘appropriate actions’. Legal actions or NPower protest maybe?

The NLC further encouraged all N-Power beneficiaries to continue applying pressure through every available channel, both online and offline, in order to keep their voices heard.

The Congress assured that concrete steps have already been set in motion to ensure that all unpaid stipends are cleared as quickly as possible.

Present at the meeting were members of the National Administrative Council of the NLC, representatives of NUPENG, PENGASSAN, NUJ, as well as members of the N-Power National Executive Council.

In the statement, the association expressed gratitude to the NLC for its solidarity. “We appreciate the support of the NLC and urge all beneficiaries to remain united and steadfast in this collective struggle,” the association noted.

The release was signed by the Office of the National Publicity Secretary and the Directorate of Strategic Communications of the National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries.

The simple summary of this meeting is that Npower beneficiaries met NLC, and were told to keep pushing for payment. Other than that, nothing MORE.

In the meantime, NPower beneficiaries are urged to remain calm and await official announcements from the FG concerning the payment of owed stipend.
