Good news for the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) community as one of its scholars begins an international exchange program in Europe.
Mr. Justin Nwofe, a graduate of the Global Health Infectious Disease Institute (GHIDI)-NSUK Cohort 2 and currently a Cohort 3 PhD Scholar, has arrived at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands to begin an Observership (Exchange Learning) program.
His exchange program is supported by the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID). During the program, he will have the opportunity to work closely with Prof. John W. A. Rossen and his research team, focusing on advancing knowledge in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.
According to NSUK officials, this international learning experience aims to strengthen diagnostic networks and enhance data collection in areas with limited information on anaerobic infections. “Mr. Nwofe’s participation will further expand collaboration between NSUK-GHIDI and European research institutions,” a university representative noted.
Congratulations have poured in from the academic community, celebrating the achievement that continues to place NSUK-GHIDI on the global map.
It is a privilege to welcome Justin to our laboratory. We can also learn a great deal from him about the need for diagnostics in Africa and the types of tests that are most urgently required, which we can incorporate into our own research. It’s wonderful to have this opportunity to expand our network and strengthen our international collaborations.
We at Nigeriastartupact.ng wish you, Dr. John and Justin the very best.
