The Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has started screening candidates who scored 40 and above in the 2025 Ogun TEACh test. This move is part of efforts to strengthen the state’s secondary school teaching workforce.
Speaking at the screening exercise held at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Chairman of TESCOM, Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu, said that 1,000 successful applicants would be deployed to secondary schools across the state as teaching interns. He explained that the internship would last for two years, after which the most outstanding interns would be offered permanent teaching appointments.
Sanyaolu stressed that the recruitment process would be based strictly on merit and transparency. He added that there would be a thorough verification of academic credentials and that subject relevance would be given priority to ensure schools have qualified teachers in critical areas of need.
“The administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun is committed to raising the standard of education in Ogun State. This is why TESCOM is following due process in the engagement of interns, in line with the state government’s vision for the education sector,” Sanyaolu stated.
He further highlighted the importance of teacher quality in improving learner performance and urged the selected interns to be diligent and efficient in their duties.
Two candidates, Miss Rofiat Fadipe and Mr Oluwatobi Onaniyi, thanked the state government for creating job opportunities through the scheme. They described the initiative as a laudable effort to tackle youth unemployment and a call to serve the education sector.
