Over 500 residents in the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have received empowerment items including cash grants, sewing machines, grinding machines and freezers from the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Moyosore Adebanjo. The distribution also featured hairdryers, solar lights, generator sets, clippers, CNG tricycles and ICT opportunities made possible through a partnership with the Industrial Training Fund.

Adebanjo said the programme showed his administration’s readiness to convert local challenges into opportunities for prosperity. He explained that the tools given to beneficiaries were aimed at helping them build long-term and sustainable livelihoods. He further announced plans to introduce the Onigbongbo Marshall Security Initiative, describing it as a community-based network that will strengthen neighbourhood safety and support existing security agencies.

Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, praised the initiative, calling it a strong step toward economic empowerment. According to him, the gesture reflects Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to inclusive growth, youth development and community advancement across the state.
