The Osun State Government has released the first batch supplementary list for the 2026 teachers recruitment exercise, increasing the total number of successful candidates from 1,000 to 1,241.

This update was approved by Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke as part of efforts to accommodate more qualified applicants and strengthen the state’s education sector. The newly added candidates expand the initial intake, creating more opportunities for unemployed graduates to join the teaching workforce across Osun.

With this adjustment, the total figure now stands at 1,241 successful applicants. The breakdown shows that 660 candidates were recruited under the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), 526 under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), and 55 as Education Officers within the civil service structure.

The government noted that this decision is aimed at improving learning outcomes in both primary and secondary schools by increasing the number of competent teachers in classrooms. It also reflects a broader commitment to addressing teacher shortages and enhancing the overall quality of education delivery in the state.

Successful candidates are advised to check the official lists and proceed with the required profiling and documentation at SUBEB, TESCOM, or the Civil Service Commission, depending on their placement.
