The Federal Ministry of Education has reported that around 1.3 million Nigerians have submitted forms for the Federal Government’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program. This initiative aims to empower youth with skills in various fields, including digital technology, automotive repair, welding, and renewable energy.

According to Professor Idris Bugaje, Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), between 500,000 to 900,000 applicants will be selected for direct training. He stated, “These applicants will be chosen after a careful evaluation process to ensure the most committed and qualified individuals benefit.”

This skill acquisition program is expected to support economic growth by addressing unemployment and preparing young Nigerians for high-demand jobs in both local and global markets.
