The Kogi State Pension Commission has announced the commencement of the 2025 Pensioners Verification Exercise under the theme “I AM ALIVE.” The exercise is set to begin on 1st July 2025 and will run till 15th July 2025, covering all state and local government pensioners.
According to Hajia Mariam Abedo, the Director-General of the Kogi State Pension Commission, the verification is aimed at updating and validating the records of genuine pensioners to enhance transparency, accountability, and ensure the prompt payment of pensions.
“This is a fresh and mandatory exercise. Failure to appear may lead to suspension of pension benefits,” Hajia Abedo warned.
Pensioners are required to visit any bank of their choice, except Microfinance Banks, for the verification process. They must present their Bank Verification Number (BVN), as biometric capturing is also compulsory.
The Commission urged all retirees to cooperate fully to help eliminate ghost beneficiaries and maintain the dignity of genuine pensioners.
“Because You Matter, let your voice say, ‘I AM ALIVE,’” the Director-General added.
