The Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), in collaboration with the Plateau State Ministry of Education and the Coordinating Office of the HOPE Programme, has officially suspended the recently conducted online CBT examination for public basic school teacher recruitment.
Recall Plateau SUBEB HOPE-EDU recruitment exam on July 19. The arrangement did not go as planned as participants complained about ill preparations by the Board.
The CBT test, held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, encountered serious challenges that affected many applicants across the state.
According to the Board, these issues disrupted the goal of the recruitment process, which is based on equity, inclusivity, and merit.
Following an in-depth review of the problems experienced, the management has opted to re-evaluate the examination strategy.
In a statement signed by Richard Nanpon Jonah, Head of Public Relations & Protocol, he said, “The Plateau SUBEB Management, in conjunction with the Plateau State Ministry of Education and consultants, has decided to revisit the strategy to guarantee the success of a subsequent exercise.”
Applicants who had registered are now advised to await further communication. “A new date for the rescheduled CBT will be made public in due course. Applicants are advised to disregard any other date currently circulating,” the statement said.
The management extended its regret over the inconvenience caused, particularly to applicants who travelled long distances.
Jonah added, “Be assured that everything is being done to conduct a more seamless exercise on a date to be announced very soon.”
