Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved October 26, 2026, for the graduation ceremony and distribution of start-up packs to 1,662 beneficiaries of the Katsina Youth Craft Village (KYCV).
The ceremony will hold at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, according to a statement from KYCV management.
The initiative is part of the governor’s Building Your Future Agenda, which promotes vocational skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance.
KYCV said the number of beneficiaries has increased from 648 at last year’s first graduation to 1,662 this year. The rise represents an increase of 1,014 trainees, or about 156.8 per cent.
The start-up packs are intended to help graduates across different trades establish or grow businesses in Katsina State’s 34 Local Government Areas (LGAs), while supporting efforts to tackle unemployment and stimulate activity.
All beneficiaries are required to attend the ceremony with one parent or guardian, following the arrangement adopted during the first graduation.
KYCV Coordinator, Engr. Kabir Abdullahi K-Soro, commended Radda for approving the expanded programme, saying it would help develop a skilled and self-reliant generation.
How to benefit
The start-up packs are for the 1,662 selected KYCV beneficiaries; the announcement does not open a new application process. Beneficiaries should attend on October 26 with a parent or guardian and follow any further instructions issued by KYCV management.
