In recognition of education as a vital tool for youth development and societal growth, the Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, Hon. Shedrack Chukwu Ogbogu, Rivers State, has launched a programme to support parents and students with free registration for the 2026/2027 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, which is currently ongoing nationwide.
Speaking at the Council Secretariat, Ogbogu said the initiative was designed to build capacity among youths in ONELGA and reposition them for a brighter future. He explained that the programme targets students who face financial barriers to accessing higher education.
According to him, “this intervention is aimed at nurturing future leaders and administrators who will be capable of steering Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area to greater heights.”
The Council Chairman urged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity by committing themselves to academic excellence and personal development. He added that educated youths remain critical to the economic and social advancement of the Local Government Area.
Ogbogu further stated that only indigenes of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area are eligible to benefit from the free JAMB registration.
He said interested candidates are required to obtain application forms through their councillors representing the 17 wards of the Local Government Council.
He also noted that completed forms, along with documentation, must be submitted to a designated office along Ikiri Road in Omoku.
