Snappcode Productions has launched a new initiative aimed at empowering young African creatives with funding and stronger visibility for their personal stories and creative projects. The Snappcode Creators Grant is designed to support filmmakers, photographers, designers, editors and digital storytellers who have powerful narratives but limited resources to bring them to reality. The company says the grant is focused on amplifying stories that reflect resilience, identity, culture and social change.

The Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Ifeoluwa Babalola, said the programme was created to break long-standing barriers that hold back creative growth across the continent. “Africa is rich in talent. What we often lack is structure, trust and a steady spotlight. The SCG is our way of bridging that gap. We want to champion stories that inspire, spotlight creators capable of shifting the industry, and support careers with the potential to travel beyond borders,” he said.

According to him, the scheme will select one creator to receive a N1m grant. To qualify, applicants are required to post a short Instagram carousel or video that shares their personal journey, including their defining struggles, early influences, aspirations and how the grant could transform their craft.

Babalola noted that organisers are especially attracted to raw, compelling and memorable storytelling that shows clear passion and potential impact. Snappcode added that it is open to partnerships with brands, investors and public agencies to expand the initiative and deepen long-term support for Africa’s fast-growing digital and creative community.
