September 19, 2025 – There are circulating reports of Sokoto State civil service recruitment ongoing on social media. However, while the state governor, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, on September 8, 2025, directed the employment of youths, there is currently no official announcement from Sokoto Civil Service.
The circulating claims state that Governor Aliyu Sokoto (FCNA) has directed the recruitment of youths who are graduates of Degree, NCE, or HND programs but are not currently employed in government service.
Nigeriastartupact.ng earlier reported that the Governor explained that the decision was necessary to provide opportunities for young people and strengthen public service delivery. In his words, “the recruitment drive is to create jobs for youths and improve government operations across the state.”
The claims further state that about 3,000 people will be recruited. Earlier, the governor set up a committee to oversee the recruitment process and recommend suitable candidates for the available positions. The committee was also urged to submit its report within one month to ensure the exercise is transparent and credible.
From the circulating claims, all qualified youths are required to report to their Local Government Chairman’s office with their academic certificates for proper verification. This registration exercise will last for only 20 days, therefore, youths are advised to act quickly so they don’t miss the opportunity.
