The Sokoto State Government has announced the commencement of a free Computer-Based Test (CBT) training programme for candidates preparing for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Higher Education, Dr Kabir Garba Gobir, said the initiative was designed to improve students’ performance and enhance their digital examination skills ahead of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examination.
Gobir noted that the training is open to all eligible indigenes of the state and forms part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen educational outcomes and digital literacy among students.
According to the statement, prospective participants have been advised to contact the Director of Social in their respective Local Government Areas for registration and further guidance on participation.
He disclosed that the training programme would commence on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 8:30am.
The designated training centres include the Total ICT Centre at Shehu Shagari College of Education and the Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko ICT Centre located along Kalambaina Road.
The Permanent Secretary urged candidates to attend promptly and take full advantage of the initiative to adequately prepare for the forthcoming examination.
He added that the ministry had put in place necessary arrangements to ensure a well-structured and impactful training exercise for all participants.
