Square Metres Construction Ltd has launched a training initiative, Square Metres Academy, aimed at addressing the skills gap in Nigeria’s real estate sector.
The firm said the academy is designed to equip aspiring professionals with the knowledge, practical skills, and industry exposure required to succeed in an increasingly competitive property market.
According to the company, the seven-day free training programme will run from April 5 to April 11, 2026, and will cover key areas across the real estate value chain, including marketing strategies, property investment education, land acquisition processes, and professional ethics.
Speaking on the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of Square Metres Construction Ltd, Oghe Ogheneriode, said the academy was established to build a new generation of knowledgeable and ethical real estate professionals.
“We believe that the future of the industry depends on this educational foundation. Real estate is one of the most powerful wealth-building tools, but knowledge is the critical differentiator,” he said.
Ogheneriode added that the focus of the training goes beyond basic sales techniques.
“We aren’t just teaching people how to sell land; we are training them to be advisors who can build lasting legacies for their clients. Our goal is to ensure that the next generation of African realtors is defined by competence and integrity,” he stated.
The company noted that despite the rapid growth of the real estate sector across Africa, many aspiring professionals still lack access to structured training and mentorship, creating a gap between opportunity and expertise.
It explained that the academy has been structured to bridge this gap by combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning, enabling participants to better understand market dynamics and industry practices.
Also speaking, the Corporate Communications and Digital Marketing Lead at Square Metres, Seun Ezra, described real estate as a high-potential career path that requires the right guidance and professional network to succeed.
“Entering the industry often requires mentorship, guidance, and access to professional networks. This training aims to provide these opportunities by connecting participants with a community of professionals,” Ezra said.
The firm added that the initiative is open to aspiring professionals across Nigeria and other parts of Africa seeking careers in property development, land investment, and real estate marketing.
