Tech4Dev has officially opened its Community to everyone, marking a major shift after a decade of operating as an alumni-focused network. For the first time in 10 years, the doors are open not only to past program participants but to every young person ready to grow, build, and lead in technology.

“The Community is now open to all,” the organization announced, emphasizing that prospective members no longer need to be program alumni to join. Whether a beginner just finding their footing or an advanced professional deep into a career journey, Tech4Dev says there is a space designed for everyone within its ecosystem of over 13,000 peers across 30 countries.

At the heart of the expansion is a clear mission: ensuring that young people, especially those in underserved communities, gain access to real economic livelihood opportunities. By focusing on AI fluency, global leadership, and economic impact, the Community aims to build a future “where prosperity is accessible to all.”

A key highlight is the three-month Global Mentorship Network, which connects members with experts from leading firms including Google, AWS, and Meta. The initiative is structured to provide strategic relationships that can “scale your career to a global level,” whether participants identify as Pathfinders or Visionaries.

The organization is also decentralizing its operations, moving beyond what it describes as a “Lagos-centric model.” National and City Chapters will be rolled out in phases across Africa, enabling physical meetups and peer-to-peer study groups within local neighborhoods.

Beyond technical training, Tech4Dev is placing strong emphasis on Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Through its Power Skills and Life Skills Labs under the Learning Academy, members will receive training in leadership, empathy, and financial literacy. The Academy will also introduce AI Learning Circles and Industry Masterclasses focused on using artificial intelligence intentionally and responsibly.

For tech entrepreneurs, the newly introduced Sandbox incubation program offers up to $5,000 in cash support and access to as much as $300,000 in startup tools and AI credits. The goal, according to the organization, is to help participants transition “from a job seeker to an employer of labor.”

As part of its 2026 roadmap, initiatives such as “Tech Girls Drive” across 30 countries and the Women Techsters Launchpad for university students aim to create a structured pipeline for the next generation of female STEM leaders.
