Applicants who applied for the Federal Ministry of Education’s Technical Facilitators recruitment programme have begun receiving text messages inviting them for interview and confirmation at Federal Technical Colleges across the country.
One of such messages, seen by Nigeria Startup News, invited a candidate to attend an interview at Federal Technical College (FTC), Kafanchan, Kaduna State. The SMS stated that the exercise would hold in April 2026 at the institution’s boardroom, urging applicants to come along with original copies of their credentials as well as photocopies for verification.
The message reads in part, “Invited for Facilitator interview/confirmation at FTC Kafanchan… Come with originals & photocopies,” indicating that the process has moved to the screening and validation stage.
The development follows the earlier announcement by the Federal Ministry of Education calling for applications into a one-year Technical Facilitators programme aimed at strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training nationwide.
According to the ministry, the initiative is part of ongoing efforts under the Renewed Hope Agenda to equip federal technical colleges with skilled, industry-experienced professionals capable of delivering practical training to students.
Findings show that the application process, which was conducted online, attracted a large number of qualified Nigerians with technical and teaching experience. The ministry had also noted that all applications would undergo a transparent and merit-based screening process, warning that submission alone does not guarantee selection.
With the emergence of these SMS invitations, it appears that shortlisted candidates are now being contacted directly for the next phase of the recruitment process.
However, applicants have been advised to remain cautious and verify details of any message received, especially in light of rising cases of recruitment-related scams. Experts warn that while genuine invitations are usually tied to official institutions like federal technical colleges, candidates should avoid sharing sensitive information or making payments to unverified sources.
As of the time of filing this report, the Federal Ministry of Education has yet to release an official nationwide list of shortlisted candidates, but multiple applicants across different states have reported receiving similar notifications.
The interview and confirmation stage is expected to determine successful candidates who will eventually be deployed to federal technical colleges to support vocational training delivery across Nigeria.
