The Afara Initiative has opened applications for the 2026 cohort of The Bridge Program (TBP), a fully funded and highly selective leadership fellowship designed for outstanding Nigerian students.
With an acceptance rate of less than five per cent, the programme identifies and equips high-potential young Nigerians with the skills, exposure, and mentorship needed to lead across business, governance, entrepreneurship, and social impact.
The Bridge Program aims to raise a new generation of leaders who can think critically, act courageously, and create measurable change within Nigeria and beyond.
Programme Structure
Selected fellows will undergo a structured and intensive development journey designed to combine theory with real-world application.
The programme includes:
- A two-week intensive residential bootcamp focused on leadership, problem-solving, and strategic thinking
- One year of active programming across four defined career tracks
- Continuous access to a lifetime alumni network and engagement platform
This structure ensures that participants are not only trained but also supported as they begin to apply their knowledge in real-life contexts.

Participants selected for TBP 2026 will receive full sponsorship and access to a wide range of career-building opportunities.
Key benefits include:
- A fully funded fellowship covering participation costs
- Access to a lifelong network of fellows, mentors, and industry leaders
- A transformational leadership experience tailored to Nigeria’s evolving needs
- Hands-on exposure through simulations, projects, and portfolio-building activities
The programme is designed to move beyond classroom learning, offering fellows practical experiences that prepare them for leadership roles.
