Federal Ministry of Education (FME) Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has started rejecting trainee applicants, with some statuses now showing “rejected.” Applicants have been advised to log into their dashboard via www.tvet.education.gov.ng to confirm their status. Those who find the “Rejected” tag will not be eligible to participate in the technical training programme.

According to the application portal, additional information displayed alongside the status includes the applicant’s full name, registered email, phone number, state, local government area, bank name, account number, and address.

The TVET initiative operates under three tracks. The first is the Short-Term Skill Training Centres, offering six-month vocational programs. The second, Vocational Enterprise Institutions, runs for twelve months with specialized training. The third is the Technical College Track, which spans three years of continuous learning.

Nigeriastartupact.ng earlier reported that TVET received 1.3 million applications, with 960,000 completed. Out of these, 1,600 accredited centres have been onboarded. So far, 58,000 students have been placed, while the target remains up to 150,000. “A total of 2,080 Quality Assurance Managers have also been trained nationwide,” the report stated.

Hence, only 58,000 shortlisted candidates have been matched to training centres, while the rest have been rejected for now.
