Yobe State has continued to record strong progress under the National Social Register (NSR), coordinated by the National Social Safety-Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO). Between 2020 and 2025, household coverage in the state grew by over 1,100 percent, reflecting improved data systems that support inclusion, recovery, and better targeting of social protection across farming and herding communities.

The development was disclosed in the National Social Register Growth, Socio-Economic & Cultural Highlights for Yobe State on Wednesday, which described the expansion as a symbol of post-conflict recovery and wider inclusion.

According to the data, households captured in the register increased from 31,665 in January 2020 to 397,853 by June 2025, while registered individuals rose from 163,711 to 1,583,873 within the same period.

The report noted that the NSR remains focused on “empowering Nigeria’s most vulnerable communities” through accurate and up-to-date social data to strengthen planning, accountability, and delivery of social protection nationwide.
