Zamfara Digital Skills Training Programme to Give N100,000 Grants, Devices

August 13, 2025 – The Zamfara Information and Communications Technology Development Agency (ZITDA), in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has launched a Digital Skills Training programme for 150 women in Zamfara State.

The initiative aims to equip participants with essential digital skills to thrive in today’s digital economy.

According to ZITDA, the training will provide each participant with an Android device, a certificate, and a ₦100,000 start-up grant to begin their digital journey. In addition, there will be six months of monitoring and mentorship to ensure participants can sustain and grow their digital ventures.

Governor Dauda Lawal described the programme as part of his government’s dedication to women empowerment and economic growth.

“This is not just about giving tools, it is about creating opportunities for women to become active contributors to Zamfara’s digital transformation,” he said.

The training covers areas such as online business, social media marketing, and technology-driven services, helping women to harness ICT for economic advancement and long-term sustainability in their communities.
