Zulum Gives ₦500,000 Each to Borno Scholarship Students in India, Malaysia

His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, CON, MNI, FNSE, FNIAE, has reaffirmed his strong commitment to the welfare of Borno students studying abroad by presenting each student with five hundred thousand naira (₦500,000). The gesture was made during his visit on Monday to Borno State Scholarship beneficiaries at Sharda University in Noida, India, where he met with the students and offered encouragement while addressing their concerns.

During the interactive session, Governor Zulum urged the students to remain focused and disciplined in their academic activities. He listened to their experiences and assured them of continuous support from the Borno State Government. According to students present at the meeting, the financial support came as a major relief. Many described it as “fatherly and motivating,” expressing gratitude for what they called the governor’s unwavering commitment to their progress.

The Governor extended this same support to Borno State Scholarship students at Integral University in Lucknow. At the institution, he maintained his message of encouragement and emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that no student is left behind. He reminded them that their success represents the future strength of Borno State. His Excellency repeated the distribution of five hundred thousand naira to each beneficiary, a move that students said showed fairness and genuine concern.

In addition to the support provided in India, Governor Zulum also ensured that Borno State Scholarship students in Malaysia received the same financial assistance. Officials accompanying him noted that this step reflects his dedication to equal treatment of all students under the scholarship scheme, regardless of their location. They explained that the Governor has consistently prioritized education and continues to demonstrate this through practical interventions.
