On Wednesday, the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Gautier Mignot, visited Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, where he held an interactive session with students and the management of the institution as part of the European Union (EU) lecture series across higher institutions in Nigeria. The engagement gave students the chance to ask questions, share perspectives, and contribute to discussions on Europe-Nigeria relations.

Ambassador Mignot highlighted several opportunities available to Nigerian students. He said, “The Erasmus scholarship scheme, intra-African academic exchange programs, and post-doctoral research under the Horizon initiative are platforms created to expand access to world-class universities and promote academic mobility.”

The session was attended by key officials, including the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Prof. Uche Eme Uche, Rector of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Christopher Kalu Okoro, and the Director-General of the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA), Architect Uche Ukeje.
