Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) payment begins today, Monday, October 20, 2025. According to the circulating schedule, the YEIDEP disbursement was expected to start today, but as of now, there is no confirmed payment yet.
Meanwhile, social media, especially Facebook, is flooded with fake YEIDEP payment claims. Many posts are misleading applicants, urging them to keep checking their bank accounts for alerts. Some comments circulating online read, “IT HAS STARTED RAINING ALREADY. HOLD YOUR PHONE CLOSE TO YOURSELF,” while another said, “CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU. Alert comes in by 12:30pm today according to the Board of Trustees.” Others have written, “Be checking your account balances,” and some frustrated users have even claimed that “YEIDEP is a scam” due to the delay in payment.
A trending screenshot also showed an applicant’s conversation with Keystone Bank about the disbursement. The bank responded, “Hello, thank you for writing to us. Kindly be informed that we are unable to confirm the specific date for the commencement of funds disbursement under the YIEDEP program. However, please be informed that disbursement will begin upon receipt of the funds. Thank you. ^Josephine.”
From the bank’s response, the YEIDEP programme is confirmed to be real and not a scam. The disbursement is expected to take place once the Federal Ministry of Youth Development releases funds to the partner banks. According to the unverified circular, the payment timeline is from October 20 to October 30, 2025, giving a ten-day window for processing.
Applicants are advised to be careful and avoid fake alerts and fraudulent social media posts. Genuine YEIDEP beneficiaries will receive payments ranging from N50,000 to N500,000 once the process officially starts.
