Google has announced a new offer that gives students in Nigeria free access to the Gemini Pro Plan for one year. The company shared that the package includes full use of its most accurate model, Gemini 3 Pro, along with unlimited image uploads, advanced image generation tools, customised quizzes and learning features such as NotebookLM. Students who activate the offer will also receive 2 TB of cloud storage. According to Google, the offer must be redeemed by December 9, 2025.
Google stated, “The Google One Student Offer provides you with subscription benefits at no charge for the duration of the promoted 12 month period from the day you redeem the Offer.” The company added that the Google One Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy continue to apply throughout the free subscription period. The offer is set up to support students using Google’s growing set of AI tools for learning, research and creative work.
To qualify, students must be at least 18 years old and residents of Nigeria or other eligible countries. They must verify their student status through SheerID when asked, and they need a personal Google Account. A Google Payments account with a valid payment method is required for verification, although the subscription itself is free during the offer period. Eligible applicants must also subscribe to Google AI Pro through the Google Play Store.
Google explained that the offer is not open to users who already have an active Google One subscription at a higher tier than the one provided. It also excludes enterprise purchasers, users on discounted Pixel bundles, those with subscriptions through family sharing or third-party services like Google Fi, and anyone using a supervised Google Account.
The company advised students to cancel before the end of the free year if they do not want to be charged the regular subscription price afterward. Google said, “If you cancel your subscription during the Offer Period, your membership may remain active until the end of the Offer Period.” Students can apply through the official link at one.google.com/ai-student.
