Ibrahim Adigun, chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State chapter, on Saturday praised the Lagos State Government for its efforts toward youth and human capital development. He gave the commendation during the 2025 Africa/National Youth Day celebration held in Lagos. The event was organised by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies in conjunction with the federal ministry of youth development.

Mr Adigun noted that Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu had, over the past few years, shown strong commitment to youth empowerment through several programmes targeted at young people in the state. He explained that the Lagos State Government had carried out impactful initiatives in the ministry of youths and social development, led by Mobolaji Ogunlende as commissioner and Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu as permanent secretary.

He said, “LASG has increased its support for youth organisations like the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, Ibile Youth Academy, Lagos Youth Development Institute among others.” He added that “Lagos State is ranked highest among other states of the federation at the ongoing Youth Day celebration final.”
