The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) has announced the graduation of its Stream 3 Power Metering Initiative (PMI) trainees, who completed training to strengthen skills in Nigeria’s metering sector.
NAPTIN highlighted their learning, practical experience and skills development, expressing hope they would contribute to the country’s evolving power industry.
The institute congratulated the graduates and wished them success as they work towards becoming certified metering professionals.
The graduation comes as attention remains on Nigeria’s plans to expand electricity meter deployment. However, the announcement does not confirm that graduates will be recruited for a planned 750,000-meter rollout in 2027.
Their participation in future metering work will depend on official decisions by relevant authorities. NAPTIN did not announce a recruitment arrangement.
For now, the milestone marks the completion of training for the PMI Stream 3 cohort and a potential step towards opportunities in the power sector.
