The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has officially opened applications for its 2026/2027 Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship Programme, offering qualified candidates an opportunity to study abroad in key professional fields.

The application portal went live on Monday, March 23, 2026, as part of the commission’s ongoing effort to strengthen human capital development in the Niger Delta region.

According to the NDDC, the scholarship is designed to equip young graduates with relevant skills and global exposure, enabling them to compete effectively across industries and contribute to Nigeria’s local content development.

Available Courses for NDDC Scholarship

Applicants must possess relevant bachelor’s degrees from recognised universities in any of the following disciplines:

  • Agricultural Sciences / Biotechnology
  • Engineering
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Geosciences
  • Information Technology / Artificial Intelligence
  • Medical Sciences
  • Architecture / Building Technology
  • Law

The commission noted that these fields were carefully selected to align with critical development needs in the region and the country at large.

Interested candidates are required to complete their application online through the official NDDC portal:

Required Documents

To complete the application process, candidates must upload the following:

  • Recent passport photograph
  • Local Government Identification Letter
  • Postgraduate admission letter from a recognised overseas university
  • Relevant academic degrees
  • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

After submission, a registration number will be automatically generated. Applicants are advised to print and keep the acknowledgement slip for reference.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and required to sit for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) as part of the selection process.

Late applications will not be considered.
