The initiative will be delivered by Sapphital, a Pan-African digital learning and technology company based in Abuja, specialising in artificial intelligence-powered Learning Management Systems, e-learning and custom software.
Training will take place through the Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA), where participants will complete short, instructor-led video courses. Courses were selected based on market demand and their potential to help participants earn income.
The programme will cover creative and artisan skills, production and manufacturing, and digital skills. Selected participants are also expected to receive mentorship, practical exposure and enterprise support to help them develop skills, establish businesses and improve their employment prospects.
Speaking at the launch, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande said youth empowerment and training were central to the administration’s reform agenda. He said the initiative would equip young Nigerians with capabilities to compete in a global economy.
BOI Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Olasupo Olusi, said the programme would connect young Nigerians with skills, mentorship and opportunities to start and sustain viable businesses.
Olusi said the pilot could provide a model for expanding similar support across Nigeria, in partnership with the ministry and Sapphital, under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The announcement confirms that 500 young Nigerians will benefit, but it does not specify the application deadline, detailed eligibility criteria or a dedicated registration link. Applicants should rely on official announcements and avoid paying anyone who promises selection.
How to apply
The announcement does not provide a confirmed application link. As the Nigerian Youth Academy is expected to deliver the training, applicants may check its official portal at https://learn.niya.gov.ng/ for updates.
