The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Culture & Tourism, in collaboration with the University of Uyo, invites students across tertiary institutions in the state to participate in the 2026 Youth Storytelling Competition.
Centred on the theme Akwa Ibom Heritage Alive, the competition encourages young creatives to express culture, identity, and history through storytelling. It provides a strong platform for students to showcase talent while promoting the rich heritage of the state.
Sponsored by Karossy Travels & Tours Ltd., the competition offers attractive rewards:
- 1st Prize: ₦1,000,000
- 2nd Prize: ₦600,000
- 3rd Prize: ₦400,000
Entry Requirements
Participants are expected to submit original entries that reflect creativity and clarity. Each submission must not exceed three minutes and should maintain good presentation quality.

- April 7, 2026 – Submission Deadline
- April 18, 2026 – Winners Announced

Students can express their ideas in various formats, including:
- Spoken word
- Essay
- Song
- Short story
- Visual art
- Dance or monologue
- Craft and other creative forms
