The Ban Ki-moon Foundation (BKMF), alongside Dubai Cares, Plan International and Unbounded Associates, has opened applications for the Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Programme 2026, which aims to help young people explore green careers and take part in local climate action.
The programme combines an online course, expert mentorship and a policy recommendations paper. Its free, self-paced online course has six modules featuring videos, interactive assignments and reflection activities about climate change and how young people can respond to it.
The mentorship programme is open to applicants aged 14 to 20 from anywhere in the world. Through workshops and one-on-one guidance from green-job professionals, selected participants will learn about career pathways, project management, pitching and presentation skills, alongside issues including education, gender and climate.
Participants will also design and implement a Changemaker Project addressing one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their communities. Mentors, trainers and the foundation will support participants as they turn course learning into practical action. The programme is intended to build professional connections, strengthen networking and project-management skills, and help young people plan their next career steps.
The foundation will select 50 candidates worldwide through a competitive recruitment process. Programme activities are scheduled to run from December 2026 to June 2027, including live workshops.
