Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced an increase in bursary payments for students in government-owned tertiary institutions from ₦50,000 to ₦200,000, while students studying Medicine, Law and Engineering will receive ₦250,000.

The new amounts will take effect from the 2027 academic session. Eno announced the increase on October 28, 2026, during the Ibom Ignite Conference in Uyo.
