The Federal Government is reportedly sending text messages to selected Nigerians, asking them to accept ₦50,000 in living-cost support under the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).
The messages identify recipients as beneficiaries and direct them to accept support using a USSD code. Earlier messages mentioned ₦20,000, while the official NERSI website says beneficiaries are to receive ₦50,000 through mobile wallets.
Screenshots show the ₦50,000 amount, but recipients should verify messages through official channels. NERSI works with financial service providers, including ALAT, MoMo and NairaGram. The programme says support is free, with no fees or middlemen.
Do not share your PIN, password or one-time password, and do not pay anyone to receive support. For enquiries, contact NERSI through its helpline or website.
