Selected graduates of the Federal Government’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative have continued receiving free starter packs at training centres across Nigeria, with some beneficiaries collecting equipment on Wednesday.
The distribution did not begin today. Starter kits had already arrived at centres, and the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) had issued earlier guidance.
A beneficiary who completed FME TVET training in Computer Hardware and Maintenance shared photographs of equipment received after completing the course. The tools are intended to help selected graduates use their skills, establish businesses and earn a living.
However, the starter packs are not for every trainee. They are reserved for approved beneficiaries in designated trades. Cohort One graduates who have completed training are being prioritised, while Cohort Two kits may be used during practical lessons before eligible trainees complete their courses.
How to collect
Trainees should confirm that their trade and beneficiary status qualify for a starter pack, then contact their TVET training centres for eligibility confirmation and collection arrangements. Do not acknowledge receipt on the TVET dashboard until the equipment has physically been handed over.
