The Federal Government has begun notifying selected Wema Bank customers about the ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI). A beneficiary’s SMS instructs the recipient to dial the official code to accept.

The code matches the ALAT by Wema Bank channel published on the official NERSI website. The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction says beneficiaries are selected using verified identity records and the National Social Register. Payments are being made in phases, so notifications may not reach everyone at once.
How to accept
If you receive the selection SMS, dial *945*23# from your registered phone and follow the prompts. The ₦50,000 is credited after acceptance. The programme is free. Never pay an agent or share your PIN, one-time password (OTP) or Bank Verification Number (BVN). For further assistance, please call 0700-022-2222.
