The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has issued a fresh notice on X, warning users about mobile line deactivation. “Please note that if you have not made a Revenue Generating Event on your mobile number for 365 days, the line can be churned,” the commission stated.

This means your SIM may be deactivated if unused for a full year. The NCC added, “Service Providers regularly send a file containing lists of churned numbers to the banks. Banks are then expected to update their customer records with this list.”
