In a major development today for youth empowerment, Katsina Local Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UNICEF and the Department of Girl Child Education to launch the “Adolescent Community Hubs” Initiative.

“For months, we were discussing with UNICEF and the Department of Girl Child Education to shape a vision rooted in inclusion, dignity, and opportunity,” said Isah Miqdad, Executive Chairman of Katsina LGA. “Today, that vision has become reality.”

The initiative targets out-of-school girls and Almajiri boys, providing safe spaces where they can receive vocational training, mental health support, and guidance towards sustainable livelihoods. These hubs aim to reduce youth unemployment and promote social inclusion across Katsina.
