August 4, 2025 – Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has officially opened applications for its 2025 scholarship programme targeted at female undergraduates studying engineering and technology-related courses in Nigerian public universities.
The company made the announcement through its official social media handle, stating that the initiative continues its commitment to empowering young Nigerian women in technical fields.
“Since its inception in 2023, the Julius Berger Female Scholarship Programme has supported 195 exceptional female undergraduates across engineering, environmental sciences, and technology-related disciplines,” the company noted. “We are empowering them to break barriers and lead the way in industries where their perspectives are needed most.”
Julius Berger Nigeria (JBN), a top infrastructure and construction company in Nigeria, provides services ranging from planning and design to construction and maintenance of buildings, roads, and industrial projects. The company is widely known for its consistent high-quality project delivery. This scholarship is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, aiming to improve access to quality education and promote human capital development within Nigeria’s academic institutions.
According to the company, “Application for the JBN scholarship is FREE.” Students are urged to use only the official application platform to avoid fraud. “Beware of fraudulent websites when applying for the JBN scholarship online. Such websites may ask you to make some payments in the course of the application,” the notice stated.
Candidates are also warned against submitting applications via email or using third-party agents. “JBN does NOT assign representatives/agents to assist applicants to apply,” the company emphasized.
The scholarship will be awarded based on merit, and candidates will go through a screening process that includes a computer-based test. Any candidate found to have submitted false documents will be disqualified at any stage of the selection process.
The scholarship is strictly for full-time female undergraduates studying any of the following courses in public universities across Nigeria:
Architecture, Building and Construction Engineering, Building Engineering, Building Technology, Cartography, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Land Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Material Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering, Production Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, and Structural Engineering.
Eligibility requirements:
To be eligible, applicants must:
1. Be a citizen of Nigeria
2. Be a female
3. Be in a Federal or State-owned university based in Nigeria
4. Be in the Faculty of Engineering /Environmental /Technology
5. Currently in their second year of full-time study in a Nigerian Federal or State University accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC)
6. Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 in a 5-grade system
7. Applicant should have a valid personal email account and phone number.
As part of the application, candidates must include both personal and academic details. In addition, they are expected to upload scanned copies of the following documents:
i. Recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant in JPEG format, not more than 200kilobytes;
ii. University or JAMB Admission Letter;
iii. Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) Result;
iv. O’ Level Result(s); and ‘A’ Level /OND /NCE Result(s) as applicable;
v. Academic results for 100-level
The deadline for submitting applications is August 21st, 2025. The examination date will be shared only with shortlisted candidates, and JBN holds the right to make the final selection.
How to apply:
To complete the application process, candidates should follow these steps:
i. Click on the Apply Now on this link: candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/JBN2025.
ii. Click on “Register Now” to create an account.
iii. Proceed to your email inbox to activate your account
iv. Click on candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/JBN2025 to return to the Scholarship site
v. Enter your registered email and password to upload your information.
vi. Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, and other information, and upload the required scanned documents.
vii. Ensure the name used in applications matches the names on all documentation in the same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise.
viii. Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to ensure that they are clear and accurate.
ix. When asked to upload a photo, upload a passport photograph with a white background.
x. Recheck application information to avoid errors
xi. Click Apply Now to submit information
xii. A message will pop up that confirms your application was successful.
xiii. Return to the portal and enter your Email and Password to download your profile, and proceed to have your Head of Department sign the document.
xiv. Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile; this would be used for verification.
xv. If the National Identification Number (NIN) was not available in step 6, to obtain your National Identification Number (NIN)
Visit ninenrol.gov.ng to register and learn more about the National Identity Number
Click Create Account and fill in the required fields
Log in with Email and Password to complete the form
After completion, schedule a date for photo and fingerprint capture
Visit any of the 37 capture centers nimc.gov.ng/pages/general/enrolmentcentres.htm to complete the registration process and obtain your National Identity Number
You can also do your total registration at the NIMC office
xvi. Return to the portal and update the application with a National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion
The company noted that submitting multiple applications can lead to disqualification saying, “Multiple applications attract a disqualification penalty from the Scholarship Organization.”
